The Cinquantenaire site is set to become a new Belgian socio-cultural beacon by 2030, the date of Belgium’s bicentenary.
As a resident or visitor to Brussels, you’ll certainly drop by to meet up with family and friends. As soon as the sun comes out, the Cinquantenaire becomes the place to go for a walk, a jog or a shortcut to work by bike.
But let’s not forget that the Cinquantenaire site is much more than that! It’s deeply steeped in history, a home to monuments, sculptures and museums which commemorate the past. Taking a stroll through it is a way of suddenly wandering into times which are sometimes regarded as bygone…and it definitely stimulates critical thinking.
