Speaker: Dr Adilia On-ying Yip, Royal Museum for Central Africa.
Topic: Re-Sounding the Xylophone Collection of the Royal Museum for Central Africa
Lecture in English.
Context:
ReSoXy studies the music practice and intangible cultural heritage of the forgotten and declining musical instruments through digitization and participatory creative approaches, in particular, recording and replicating the fixed, ten keys manza xylophone collection of RMCA. These xylophones were owned and performed by the Azande chiefs and notables in the north of Democratic Republic of Congo.
